The Corporate Security Network (CSN), managed by Perpetuity, is the premier resource for Corporate Security professionals to learn and share knowledge on how the security features of a building together with the performance of staff and management can increase the profitibility of a business.
The membership is select and in the first year included ADT, Barclays Capital, BT Property, Cancer Research UK, GSK, Lloyds TSB, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Reliance Security Services.
In that year in addition to the intrinsic networking benefits of being members they also benefited from privileged access to leading practitioners at exclusive discussion seminars. These 10 seminars covered a range of topics from vetting and activists to CCTV solutions. Members also selected and guided a major research project on 'How Organisations Manage Risk'.
As we start this new year we will be dealing with issues such as the impact of infiltration by organised crime on major businesses. In addition we will also have another full year of innovative seminars. So if you feel you or your company could benefit from progressive and forward thinking security management and would like to consider membership please contact Tim Pascoe t.pascoe@perpetuitygroup.com or 0116 222 5555.
Welcome to the sixth edition of the Perpetuity Group newsletter. We aim to give you the latest news on our research, consultancy, conferences and training courses. For further information please visit our websites.
Church Hill Primary School is first to receive Secured Environment Award
On Tuesday 5th June Church Hill Primary School in East Barnet, North London was the first school in the country to receive a Secured Environments award
The Head of the School, Rebecca Mottershead commented:
"Everyone at Church Hill Primary is extremely pleased about the award. The school's governors have been very concerned about security issues which they felt weren't taken seriously enough. Achieving this Secured Environments Award has made them feel security is being taken seriously. They have also realised security can be low key yet effective, building a fortress isn't always the best or most effective strategy."
Secured Environments is a quality assurance scheme that will assess organisations to see if they have made security an inherent part of how they are managed. If they pass the standard they will be certified as being secure by the ACPO and awarded the 'Police' Secured Environments Certificate. The first phase of the scheme is aimed at schools and business. For more information go to www.securedenvironments.com or contact 0116 222 5555.

Criminal damage is often seen as a relatively minor crime, but neglected physical environments are unsafe, cause fear and undermine pride in the local community. It is also a very costly crime with estimated costs to a victim of criminal damage standing at £850. This has been recognised by Stevenage Community Safety Partnership (SCSP) who are implementing a major initiative to deal with the problem, as it is like many other local authorities, one of its highest 'volume' crimes. To ensure the project is a success SCSP have undertaken an evidence based approach and have used Perpetuity because of our leading expertise in the area.
