Ian Hall
Head of Security Consultancy
On leaving school Ian went to University where he got an Honours degree in Military History and Theology. Ian went on to serve as a police officer in London, during which time he trained as a firearms officer and carried out regular anti-terrorist and diplomatic protection work.
He then moved into commercial security where he worked in senior management for ten years with national and international clients. During this time he carried out a number of detailed security surveys into criminal, terrorist and natural threats for leading blue chip companies and had a particular interest in situational crime prevention measures.
Ian gained a Masters degree with distinction in Security and Risk Management in 2003 adding a strong theoretical base to his obvious practical expertise. He has written and lectured to a variety of fields on personal and physical protection and his thesis and studies on workplace violence in the security industry was given an award by ASIS for being the first of its kind to focus on the UK.
Prior to joining Perpetuity as Head of Security Consultancy, Ian was Managing Director of the Security Consultancy arm of Aim Ltd where he worked around the world specialising in areas such as close protection, travel planning, intelligence, security consultancy, due diligence and surveillance. He has used the strong network gained through this work to support clients in multinational risk audits and cost reduction initiatives.
